“National Category Sports Judge”

The lecturer of the Department of Olympic and Professional Sports received the qualification “National Category Sports Judge”.

Iryna Yanovych, a lecturer of the Department of Olympic and Professional Sports took part in a refereeing seminar on cycling, organized by the Cycling Federation of Ukraine together with the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine. The seminar was held on November 28-30 in Lviv. All participants of the seminar had the opportunity to improve their sports qualifications and pass a professional test to increase their judging category.

Upon completion of the seminar, I. Yanovych successfully passed an exam on knowledge of the rules of competitions for all types of cycling recognized in Ukraine (track, road, mountain bike and BMX) and fulfilled the conditions for assigning the qualification category “National Category Sports Judge”.

Iryna Yanovych has the highest sports title “Honored Master of Sports of Ukraine”. As a student of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, she glorified her native Alma Mater at international competitions, multiple champion of Ukraine, European champion and bronze medalist in cycling at the XXVII Olympic Games in Sydney. For high sporting achievements, she has the state award “Order of Princess Olga, III degree”.

Improving the refereeing qualifications of scientific and pedagogical workers makes it possible to improve the teaching of educational components of the cycle of professional training of students of the Institute of Health Care and Sports under the educational and professional program “Sport”.
