Training Session within the “Leadership Academy for Internationalization” Programme

At the end of November, Liudmyla Ovcharova, Head of the International Education Sector of LTSNU International Relations Office, participated in the practical part of the training “Fundamentals of Ukraine-U.S. Academic Partnerships,” organized by EducationUSA Ukraine.

The practical part of the training opened to participants the multicultural world of Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) projects, emphasizing the importance of intercultural initiatives in developing international cooperation. One of the key moments was the presentation of COIL projects by graduates of the Internationalization Leaders Academy. Each project reflected a commitment to establishing connections between cultures and countries, showcasing an innovative approach to addressing global educational challenges. The panel discussion accompanying the presentations focused on practical approaches to implementing COIL projects between the U.S. and Ukraine. Participants had the opportunity to discuss real-life cases, exchange experiences, and explore new avenues for developing effective international cooperation.

The training also served as an important platform for engaging informational sessions, providing participants with new knowledge and tools to enhance their professional skills. The session “Culture, Trust, and Working Together” emphasized the necessity of cultural understanding and trust in the context of international relations. Another session, “Designing COIL Content with Cultural Aspects in Mind,” led by Hope Windle, Director of the COIL Center at SUNY and an expert in international virtual exchange, highlighted the importance of considering cultural aspects when designing educational programs for a global audience. This session provided participants with unique tools for effective work in the international educational space, focusing on intercultural interaction in today’s globalized world.

The training not only provided participants with practical knowledge and tools for implementing COIL projects but also became an important platform for exchanging experiences and ideas among professionals from different countries. Through constructive discussions, practical sessions, and inspiring presentations, a strong foundation was laid for the continued development of international educational initiatives, contributing to strengthening global connections and the development of innovative approaches to education in the face of contemporary challenges.
