Participation in the Professional Development Courses

From October 21 to November 22, 2024, Kateryna Bilobrovska, Doctor of Philosophy in the specialty 035 Philology, lecturer of Foreign Languages for Professional Purposes Department, Vice Director in charge of academic work of the Educational and Research Institute of Philology and Journalism took part in a number of professional development courses.

During October 21–30, 2024 Kateryna Bilobrovska at the invitation of the Islanders of Progress of Odessa I. I. Mechnikov National University, West Ukrainian and Khmelnytskyi National Universities, within the framework of the initiative «How to make the life of an educator easier?» from the public organization «Prohresylni» took part in the professional development course «New opportunities for teachers: a master class from the Islanders of Progress of Odessa I. I. Mechnikov National University, West Ukrainian and Khmelnytskyi National Universities» with the aim of deepening knowledge and skills in teaching activities; sharing experience with colleagues; getting practical tips and tools for successful learning and teaching.

As part of the course, a number of topics and questions were outlined: modern pedagogical skills; implementation and realization of sustainable development goals within the Educational programs; implementation of the Global Solidarity value system; questions about pre-medical care; avoidance of significant deficiencies in the functioning of the Educational programs; activity of Ukraine in international organizations, which was represented in the following speakers’ speeches: «Pedagogical skill of a modern lecturer: challenges and ways of improvement», «Civic education as a tool for achieving the goals of sustainable development», «The system of values ​​of Global Solidarity as a conceptual basis for the recovery of Ukraine in the conditions of war and in the post-war period», «Top 10 myths in pre-medical care: how to save and preserve life», «Educational programs: how to avoid significant deficiencies in functioning».

As a result of attending a master class, performing independent work, as well as successfully passing a test based on the results of the completed training, Kateryna Bilobrovska received a certificate of professional development with the amount of 2 ECTS credits (60 hours).

From October 28 to November 1, 2024, Kateryna Bilobrovska took part in the professional development course «Innovative teaching: from design thinking to artificial intelligence», which was organized by the public organization «Prohresylni».

During the course, the speakers highlighted the following topics: «Design thinking for educators», «Prompt engineering for learning», «Artificial intelligence for teaching», «Evaluation in higher education: the territory of “sanctified subjectivism”, or How a scale of 100 fill points with meaning», «Interactive lectures», «Inclusive design of the discipline», «The art of questions and answers», «Trauma-informed teaching».

Based on the results of the professional development program (a series of online activities and tests to check the mastery of the course material), the lecturer received a certificate of professional development with the amount of 1 credit of ECTS (30 hours).

During November 19–22, 2024, Kateryna Bilobrovska joined the online course «Emotional health of educators: psychological resilience and self-care».

The public organization «Prohresylni» together with the charitable foundation «Right to Defense» organized a professional development course for educators who seek to develop psychological resilience and self-care skills, an online course on emotional health. During the course, participants learned techniques of psychological stability and care for their own emotional health; learned how to maintain a balance between work and personal life; received practical tools to overcome stress in the conditions of today’s challenges.

The speakers were psychotherapists and psychologists, who held open lectures on the following topics: «Lecturer’s mental health under chronic stress conditions», «Chronic fatigue and emotional burnout of a lecturer and methods of replenishing resources», «Internal displacement and life abroad: what you need to know about yourself or about students who have experience of displacement», «Hidden and overt violence in the work of a lecturer: how to recognize and counter».

For participating in the online course, the lecturer received a certificate of professional development in the amount of 1 ECTS credit (30 hours).
