Meeting with a Stakeholder at the Department of Literary Studies, Oriental Philology and Translation

Within the Days of Japanese Language and Culture, students of the educational program “Language and Literature (Japanese, English)” met with a practicing Japanese translator, Iryna Dergachova.
On November 26, students of the educational program “Language and Literature (Japanese, English)” with the program guarantor, Yulia Malakhova, met with Ms. Iryna Dergacheva, a practicing Japanese translator. The meeting was also attended by members of the Youth Club of Oriental Cultures, teachers and students of the Department of Literary Studies, Oriental Philology and Translation.
Iryna began the meeting with a personal story, telling about her journey in the world of Japanese language and translation. She currently lives and works in Japan. She shared her experience of studying, internship and working in Japan, gave students useful recommendations on improving their speaking skills and communicating with native Japanese speakers, and talked about the types of translation she does.
The guest drew the attention of those present to the importance of participating in grant programs, thanks to which they can go to Japan for language internship and study, as well as about the prospects of employment with knowledge of the Japanese language.
The meeting took place in a positive atmosphere. Iryna emphasized that students should believe in their abilities, not be afraid to take on any type of translation, and strive for success in their translation career.
