“Figurative Word of Luhansk Region”

On April, 29 the XV International scientific-practical conference named after Victor Uzhchenko “Figurative Word of Luhansk Region” was held in Starobilsk.

This year it is dedicated to the 95th anniversary of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.

The scientific-practical conference provides a solution of current linguistic, literary and methodological issues related to linguistic and cultural space of the historic and modern Luhansk region in the all-Ukrainian context of development of the artistic expression, people’s and poetic art, scientific writing and journalism.

Many scientists and researchers are interested in these problems that is confirmed by a wide geography of the conference participants.

Among the participants were representatives of such higher educational establishments, as: Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, Mykolaiv V.A.Suhomlynskyi National University, Sumy A.S. Makarenko State Pedagogical University, Zaporizhzhya National University, Petro Mohyla Black Sea State University (the city of Mykolaiv), Zhytomyr Ivan Franko State University, Cherkasy Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University, Berdyansk State Pedagogical University, Kryvyi Rih National University, Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University, Lysychansk Pedagogical College of LNU, Stakhanov Pedagogical College, Bryanka College of LNU (the city of Lysychansk).

The conference issues attracted the attention of the young scientists: graduate students, undergraduates, young researchers and even pupils of secondary schools, who test themselves in a scientific field.

Teachers and pupils of Bila Tserkva comprehensive school No.18 of I-III levels (Kyiv region), Teplovska comprehensive school of I-III levels (Stanichno-Luhanskii district of Luhansk region), Talnovskii Economics and Mathematics Lyceum (Cherkasy region), Kreminna grammar school (Luhansk region), Radolivskii comprehensive school of I-III levels (Primorskii district of Zaporizhzhia region), Severodonetsk secondary school No. 5 (Luhansk region) could share their scientific observations.

Among the issues were research in the field of lexicography, dialectology, phraseology, linguistic and stylistic text, contemporary literature, text analysis, methods of teaching philological disciplines in educational institutions of different types.

The Organizing Committee congratulated the conference participants and wished effective cooperation, mutually beneficial partnerships and the generation of new scientific ideas, hypotheses and their successful confirmation.

In spite of the difficult times in our country, the conference “Figurative Word of Luhansk Region” and the publication of the eponymous collection of scientific materials continue their traditions.
