25.11.2024
The guarantor of the second (master’s) level of education “Sociology” participated in the online lecture from ESOMAR (European Society of Marketing Research Professionals).
The online lecture “How to handle data subjects’ rights: insights and practical exemptions” took place on November 20. At the lecture, the issue of data protection in Ukraine became highly relevant due to European integration trends. Currently, the practice of using the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in domestic data control practices is expanding. When conducting sociological research, a sociologist is responsible for the preservation and security of data, therefore, according to the developers of the EP Sociology, he must know the main provisions of the GDPR and be able to assess the compliance of the GDPR with the Sociologist’s Code of Professional Ethics of the Sociological Association of Ukraine.
ESOMAR is a leading association in the field of social and marketing research, the principles of which serve as a guideline for the industry, therefore ESOMAR’s experience in data management will be taken into account in order to improve the content of the OC “Professional Ethics of a Sociologist” and “Corporate Ethics and Management of Corporate Social Responsibility”.
