Meeting of the “Agronomic Schools” Group

On November 25, the Department of Biology and Agronomy held a regular meeting of the “Agronomic Schools” scientific group on the topic “Modern approaches and innovations in crop cultivation technologies.”
The meeting was attended by students majoring in Agronomy and teachers of the department. The meeting discussed issues of modern technologies used in agronomic research and practical activities of agronomists. Attention was paid to the use of SMART and GIS technologies, automation of production, their involvement in precision agriculture. The issue of using vertical farming technologies in urban agriculture caused a lively discussion.
As a result of the discussion, students and teachers proposed to expand the range of issues considered at the meetings of the circle to a more detailed analysis of aspects of the use of genetically modified plants in the world, artificial intelligence in agricultural production, unified farm management systems, AI, VR, AR digital laboratories and platforms.
