We announce with deep sadness that on November 19, in the hospital, after a serious wound received during the performance of a combat mission in the Kherson direction, Ivan Badyvskyi, a senior sergeant, a platoon commander of the reconnaissance company of the 140th Separate Reconnaissance Battalion of the Marine Corps, a student majoring in 061 “Journalism”, passed away. Doctors fought for his life for almost a week, but the injuries turned out to be incompatible with life. Ivan is survived by his loving wife and young son. Always open, motivated, patriotic and courageous in his views and statements, he will forever remain a Hero in our hearts.
The Rectorate of the University, the Educational and Research Institute of Philology and Journalism, and the Department of Journalism express their sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased serviceman.
Ivan Badyvskyi was born on September 11, 1997 in the village of Menchychi, Ivanychiv district, Volyn region.
In 2015, he graduated from a secondary school of grades I-III in the village of Lyubiaz, Lyubeshiv district, Volyn region.
At the age of 18, Ivan chose the path of service to the Motherland. He participated in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) and the Joint Forces Operation (JFO).
In 2020, he entered Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, specialty Journalism 061.
As a platoon commander of a reconnaissance company in the 140th Separate Reconnaissance Battalion of the Marine Corps, Ivan Badyvskyi demonstrated extraordinary courage and professionalism. During his service, Ivan received numerous awards, including:
- the Steel Cross breastplate;
- the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, III degree;
- breastplate of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine “Best Sergeant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine”;
- medal “For exemplary military service, 1st degree”.
His selflessness, courage and patriotism will remain forever in our hearts. Eternal memory and respect to Ivan Badyvskyi, who gave his life for Ukraine!
