A virtual tour to the historical sights of the city of Xi’an

Students of the Department of Literary Studies, Oriental Philology and Translation of the Educational and Research Institute of Philology and Journalism took part in a virtual excursion to the Museum of the Terracotta Army in the tomb of Emperor Qin Shi Huang-di
On November 16, students of the educational program “Language and Literature (Chinese, English)” and “Language and Literature (Chinese)” together with their teachers, Daria Perepadia and Yulia Malakhova, joined a unique online lecture on the topic “Famous sights of Xi’an”, which took place at the Confucius Institute of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. The lecture was accompanied with streaming directly from the 秦始皇兵马电视博物馆 (Museum of the Terracotta Army in the Tomb of Emperor Qin Shi Huang), Xi’an, China. The lecture was given by Chang Yusun, a teacher at the Confucius Institute.
The Terracotta Army Museum in China is one of the most impressive places that every sinologist dreams to visit. When visiting this museum, you can see thousands of excavated figures of warriors and horses that were made for the Qin Emperor in the 3rd century BC, as well as many amazing artifacts.
At the lecture, the participants had the opportunity not only to improve their understanding of the Chinese language and expand their vocabulary, but also to take a virtual walk around the museum, get acquainted with the amazing terracotta warriors, see the unique ancient products that were buried in the emperor’s tomb, get excited abot the variety of statues, figures and works of architectural art of Ancient China, in particular the 华清宫(the country residence of the Tang Dynasty emperors), and also enjoy the performances that take place in the palace.
