Kateryna Bilobrovska’s Open Class

On November 15, 2024, Kateryna Oleksandrivna Bilobrovska, Doctor of Philosophy in the specialty 035 Philology, lecturer of Foreign Languages for Professional Purposes Department held an open class.
The open class was held on the topic: «I Learn and Create Art» within the educational component «Foreign Language for Professional Purpose» for students of higher education of the 4th year of the first (bachelor) level of the educational program «TV presenter» specialty 021 «Audiovisual art and production», educational program «Fine art» specialty 023 «Fine art, decorative art, restoration», educational program «Musical art» specialty 014 «Secondary education», educational program «Musical art» specialty 025 «Musical art», educational program «Choreography» specialty 024 «Choreography», educational program «Graphic design» specialty 022 «Design».
The class was logically structured in compliance with all methodological requirements. The lecturer clearly planned the goals and tasks. At all stages of the classes, which were sequentially interconnected, Kateryna Bilobrovska skillfully applied methods and techniques to activate the cognitive activity of the students of higher education, used interactive learning technologies, deepened the students’ knowledge of the lexical topics «Art», «Creativity», «Inspiration», grammatical topic «Used to». The methods of subject-language integrated teaching made it possible to achieve a confident level of interaction with the students and receive positive feedback. This form of conducting the class helped to activate the cognitive activity of the students, to improve cooperation and communication skills; to develop creative and critical thinking, general erudition and culture, analytical and communication skills of the applicants; promoted the formation of professionally oriented communicative competence.
The exercises were aimed at the development of all types of speech activities (listening, reading, speaking, writing). The practical tasks were designed for in-depth study and consolidation of knowledge on the subject of culture, art and creativity. The students of higher education skillfully possessed thematic vocabulary, skilfully performed exercises, conducted dialogic speech, asked questions, expressed their own opinions, discussed problematic issues.
During the class, the students of higher education demonstrated a high level of language training, interest in studying the discipline. Their activity and involvement in the process contributed to the effective learning of the material and created a positive atmosphere for discussion and analysis of the topic, ensured productive interaction between the lecturer and students, which is an important factor for achieving educational goals.
