During the information and educational hour, students had the opportunity to learn about the educational trends-2024, discuss current issues regarding the development of education, and as an additional task, they were asked to write an e-mail on the futureme.org platform about their expectations from education in 10 years.
Staying abreast of educational trends is important because they will shape how we learn and work in the future.
Iryna Yuriyivna Sergeeva, a teacher, together with the students majoring in “Journalism”, tried to determine whether “Hype is a disease of Ukrainian journalism” during the IPG. Young people analyzed the impact on the quality and objectivity of Ukrainian journalism. According to them, someone from the media continues to inform their readers, viewers and listeners in good faith. But someone, even during the global crisis, continues to focus on political struggle for the benefit of the owners and to the detriment of objectivity, someone continues to wage a hybrid war against Ukraine, who still offers “clickbait” materials instead of quality texts and stories. The pursuit of emotions and maximum audience coverage forces journalists to ignore important context that would allow readers to better understand the essence of an event or phenomenon.
Meanwhile, people do not receive the necessary information, remaining disoriented, and instead a constant stream of hype and fakes pours out on them.
Also, Iryna Yuriivna introduced the audience to journalistic activity, 4th year student, Anastasia Tatarenko, majoring in Journalism, who works at the NGO regional media “ZMIST”, Poltava spoke about the peculiarities of work in the field of journalism, with positive and negative moments, as well as prospects for personal development.
