Introductory Session for the Master’s Students

An introductory session for the 1st-year master’s students was held at the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology.
During October 4-9, 2024, at the educational and scientific institute of pedagogy and psychology for students of the first year of study of the second (master’s) level of higher education, specialty 231 “Social work” OP “Social work. Social pedagogy. Practical psychology” an instructional session was held.
During the work, applicants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the schedule of the educational process and the individual curriculum for the 1st semester of 2024-2025, with the features of work on the educational portal; methodical recommendations for writing a master’s thesis; with the basics of academic integrity and the features of avoiding academic plagiarism in qualifying papers. In addition, students learned about the plan for holding scientific and practical conferences, round tables, and webinars organized by the department.
A particularly valuable experience for the students was the visit to the guest lecture of the guest professor Viktoria Stynska from Vasyl Stefanyk Prykarpattia National University, as well as participation in the round table on the topic “Health-preserving space of social workers”. The practical aspects of ensuring psychophysical health in the professional sphere were discussed there.
During the session, the focus of the applicants’ attention was directed to the importance of choosing a scientific supervisor and approving the subject of the master’s qualification work, since the selection of a competent supervisor contributes to the deepening of knowledge, the development of scientific skills and the effective conduct of research. Criteria for choosing a research topic were also discussed, which should be relevant, practically significant and meet the professional interests of the students.
