Meeting of the Youth Club of Eastern Cultures on the topic “Traditional and modern holidays of Japan”

On November 13, the next meeting of the Youth Club of Eastern Cultures was held at the Department of Literature, Oriental Philology and Translation

At the meeting of the club dedicated to traditional and modern holidays of Japan, the meeting participants were able to learn a lot of interesting things about Japanese culture and traditions of celebration, as well as amazing and unique modern festivals. The meeting was chaired by students of the “Language and Literature (Japanese, English)” Educational Program.

Guarantor of the educational program, candidate of philological sciences Yuliya Malakhova prepared a vivid presentation about New Year’s celebration in Japan. At the meeting, 4th-year students, permanent members of the club, gave speeches: Alina Nazarenko shared information about Sea Day, and Daryna Ubiyvowk – about the “Akutai Matsuri” festival.

The new members of the club, our freshmen, also proved themselves: Polina Neporada told the audience about the Sakura Blossom Festival in Japan, Arina Sherstyuk presented a report on the Coming-of-Age Day, and Olga Kurenya – about the “Comiket” festival. We are very proud of our talented students and wish them further creative inspiration!

The reports were accompanied by lively discussions, the participants had the opportunity to share their impressions and knowledge about traditional Japanese rites and customs. At the end of the meeting, we discussed the prospects of the club’s further initiatives. Club leaders Daria Perepadia and Yuliya Malakhova announced the holding of Days of the Japanese Language at the Educational and Research Institute of Philology and Journalism, which has already become a tradition for orientalists of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.
