7.11.2024
On 31 October, at the Educational and Research Institute of Philology and Journalism, at the initiative of the student self-government of the Institute, in particular the student director Sofia Nedohybchenko, students had an interesting time playing the intellectual and psychological game ‘Mafia’.
Together with the guests, the students of the Educational and Research Institute of Culture and Arts, the participants of the game found a way out of difficult and confusing game situations, developing communication skills, the ability to convince others, using acting skills, and come to a common decision.
‘In the quiet town of Elmwood, rumours of the presence of the mafia have always been considered an urban legend. On the night of the Harvest Festival, the residents celebrated under twinkling lights, unaware of the figures lurking in the darkness.
As midnight approached, a cold wind swept through the square and the noise subsided. From the darkness, two men in strict suits appeared, their faces covered by hats. The aliens approached the mayor. ‘Your time has come,’ one of them said, his voice even but threatening.
At dawn, the city woke up to a horrific sight: the empty mayor’s chair at the festival, with a single red rose ominously placed in its centre.
The new mayor invited the townspeople to his office to put an end to the murders and expose the real Mafia. A doctor and a detective also came to help. The investigation took a long time and was full of discussions, suspicions and humour. The residents won and got rid of the Mafia forever.’
