“Education in Culture: the Role of Teachers as Cultural Workers”

The head of the Audiovisual Art Department the  took part in the conference “Education in Culture: the Role of Teachers as Cultural Workers”.

On November 2, the conference “Education in Culture: the Role of Teachers as Cultural Workers” was held in the city of Lviv. The conference was organized by the non-governmental organization “Coalition of Cultural Workers”.

Maksym Saibekov, Head of the Audiovisual Arts Department, took part in this conference from the Educational and Research Institute of Arts, LTSNU. 

The address of the event was: Ukrainian Catholic University, Center of Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytskyi.

The purpose of the meeting was: to record the pain points of education in the field of culture in Ukraine, provoked including by Russia’s war against Ukraine, and to present the result in the form of a joint final document that will be sent to various interested parties. We propose to think together about how the ecosystem of education in the sphere of culture of Ukraine has changed? What threats, challenges, opportunities determine today’s strategies of higher education institutions? What do we expect from cultural and educational policies in the country and how can we influence their formation?

The conference was attended by representatives of higher education institutions from all over Ukraine.

The result of the conference was a joint developed document with proposals and requests both to the educational community and to state authorities in the field of education, culture and art.
