Meeting with the Trade Union Organization

Students of the Institute of Social and Humanitarian Sciences discussed the prospects of student self-government at a meeting with the Trade Union Organization.

Recently, bachelor’s students master’s students majoring in “Secondary education. History and civic education”, “International relations, public communications and regional studies”, “Political science” and “Sociology” took part in a meeting with the head of the Primary Trade Union Organization of the university, Volodymyr Moroz, and the head of student self-government of the Educational and Research Institute of Social and Humanitarian Sciences, Viktoria Makarenko. The event aroused lively interest among first-year students seeking active involvement in university life.

Volodymyr Moroz told the students about the structure and functions of the trade union organization, its role in protecting the rights of students, as well as the opportunities for personal and professional development that participation in the trade union provides. He emphasized the importance of the student association at the university as a platform for support, mutual assistance and formation of collective initiatives.

Viktoria Makarenko shared her experience of participating in student self-government, spoke about its structure and key areas of activity, which include organizing events, protecting students’ interests, and promoting the development of their leadership qualities. According to her, powerful student self-government at the university provides opportunities for every active student to participate in making important decisions at the level of both the institute and the university in general.

The meeting helped first-year students better understand the role of trade union organization and student self-government in their studies and university life. Many of them have already expressed their desire to become active members of self-government, and therefore, soon their voices will be heard in support of student initiatives, strengthening the unity of the university community.
