Academic Council Meeting

On October 24, another meeting of the University Academic Council was held remotely.

The following issues were on the agenda:

• about the results of the 2024 admission campaign;
• competitive cases;
• miscellaneous.

The first item on the agenda was to consider the results of the 2024 admissions campaign. After listening to and discussing the report of the responsible secretary of the admissions commission Viktoria Volodavchyk, the Academic Council noted that the university and its structural subdivisions at the proper level ensured the organization of admission and enrollment for all educational (educational, professional, scientific ) degrees (skilled worker, professional junior bachelor, bachelor, master, doctor of philosophy, doctor of science) and forms of education in 2024.

At the same time, the university did not escape the all-Ukrainian trend of reducing the number of applicants – the volume of admission to the university, taking into account all separate subdivisions and educational degrees and levels, decreased by 209 people compared to last year. The question sparked a lively discussion, which was attended by the chairman of the academic council commission on social and humanitarian work and public relations Volodymyr Moroz, directors of educational and research institutes Viktoriia Dmytrenko, Nataliia Matsai, Maryna Yepikhina, Eduard Potapenko, Anton Bader, Oleksandr Dubovoi , director of the Lysychansk Pedagogical College Oksana Beis, director of the Regional Center for Professional Education Mykola Kurylo, representative of the Dolyna Consulting Center Vira Pushko and professor of the Department of Musical Art and Choreography Iryna Tsebrii, who drew attention to the causes of certain problems during the admissions campaign, and also suggested ways to solve them solution.

The decision of the Academic Council recommended candidates for the conclusion of contracts for the position of the head of the department of musical art and choreography – Eduard Golovashich, the Department of Philosophy and Sociology – Svitlana Khobta, the Department of Political Science and International Relations – Liudmyla Novoskoltseva, the Psychology Department  – Liliia Chernovska, the Department of Landscape Gardening and Ecology – Iryna Kravets and the Department of Economics and Marketing – Liudmyla Horbatiuk.

Among other things, the issue of approving and making changes to the regulations on centers and departments, the supervisory council, student self-government, the administrative and economic part and the internal system of ensuring the quality of education of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, approving the cooperation program of the specialized departments of the university and professional colleges, submission of scientific research projects for participation in the second stage of the competitive selection of fundamental scientific research, applied scientific research, the executors of which are institutions of higher education and scientific institutions belonging to the sphere of administration of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, approval of individual study plans and individual plans scientific work of post-graduate students, topics of dissertations for obtaining the scientific degrees of Doctor of Science and Doctor of Philosophy, granting and extending academic leaves, as well as recommending the publication of scientific and educational-methodological works.

At the end of the meeting, the chairman of the Academic Council Vitalii Kurylo announced the awarding of university teachers. The teacher of the Department of Romance and Germanic Philology (now a teacher of the Department of Foreign Languages ​​by professional direction) Kateryna Bilobrovska and the director of the Educational and Research Institute of Health Care and Sports Oleksandr Dubovoi were awarded the diplomas of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Ukraine. The certificate of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine was awarded to Iryna Myhovych, head of the International Relations Department.
