Meeting of the Youth Club of Eastern Cultures at the Oriental Philology and Translation Studies Department

On September 27, 2024, a meeting of the Youth Club of Eastern Cultures was held, dedicated to traditional Chinese holidays
The Youth Club of Eastern Cultures held its first meeting in the new academic year. The topic of the meeting was traditional Chinese holidays, which was chosen on the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival in China (秋节). The participants congratulated the new members of the club – freshmen, students of the educational programs “Language and Literature (Chinese, English)”, “Language and Literature (Japanese, English)”.
At the meeting, the participants discussed a wide range of topics related to Chinese culture. During the meeting, the participants presented their reports and shared their impressions of the traditions and customs of the Chinese during the celebration. Thus, Ostapenko Zlata, a first-year student, talked about the peculiarities of the “秋节” celebration. Sukhina Anastasia, a third-year student, added information about the traditions and history of this holiday, and also familiarized the participants with the traditional Chinese Lantern Festival (灯节). Sofia Nedogybchenko, a second-year student, told about the analogue of the Chinese holiday “秋节” in Korea. All reports were accompanied by bright presentations and videos.
After the presentations, a discussion began, during which everyone had the opportunity to share their impressions and information about traditional holiday dishes, in particular, moon gingerbread (月饼), features of the celebration in China.
