UKRAINIAN LANGUAGE WEEK

The Department of Ukrainian Language invites the university community to participate in the thematic marathon “Ukrainian Language Week”, which will last until October 29, 2024, as part of the Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language.

On October 25, 2024, at 10:40 a.m., we invite everyone who wants to join the university-wide action – the collective writing of a radio dictation of national unity under by the link: https://meet.google.com/ubv-bciw-ssb.

This year, it will be possible to listen to the dictation online on the following platforms:

– on the airwaves of Ukrainian Radio and Radio Culture,

– live on the broadcast of the Suspilne Kultura TV channel,

– in the broadcast of the YouTube channel of the Ukrainian Radio,

– on the Facebook page of the Society.

Until October 29, we invite students of all university structural divisions as well as professors and teachers – connoisseurs of the Ukrainian language – to take part in the contests:

1) to write a popular science article about a Ukrainian scientist-linguist,

2) to write a work or a popular scientific article about the Ukrainian language,

3) to write a poem about the Ukrainian language.

According to the results of the contests, the best works (or parts of works) will be published on the university’s website.

We ask you to pay attention to the need to observe the norms of academic integrity and avoid plagiarism in competitive works.

Please send the competition works (articles about linguists, thematic works, articles and poems) to the e-mail address of the Department of the Ukrainian Language kaderaum.lnu@gmail.com with the mark COMPETITION “Week of the Ukrainian Language-2024”.

On October 29, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., we invite scientists and young scientists to take part in the XVIII All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference “Slobozhansk Beseda – 17. Text Linguistics and the Study of Ukrainian Mentality”.

The program of the conference provides presentations with reports (online format) and absentee participation (only printing of the report).

The main issues proposed for discussion are presented in the information letter of the conference.

The conference program includes a meeting with the Ukrainian writer Hanna Krevska.
