Documentary films about the famous Ukrainian director were shown at the Institute of Arts.
On October 7, students and teachers of the Department of Audiovisual Arts watched two interesting documentaries about the famous Ukrainian director. Also at the screening were their authors, namely employees of the Poltava TV channel “Ltava”: TV journalist Inna Didyk and cinematographer-operator Dmytro Starikov. Visitors could chat with them and ask a few questions.
First, they showed a painting inspired by the works of Dovzhenko, which has poetics and symbolism. The second picture is focused on journalistic work, where information was presented more voluminously. Both films tell about the creative path of the artist and the process of filming his most iconic work “Earth”, 1930. For example, two amateur actresses who participated in mass scenes were interviewed. They shared memories of the director himself, showed photos with the film crew and fondly remembered those times.
For students, this event became very informative for new knowledge, both from the point of view of professional skills and erudition about the history of Ukrainian cinema.
