Guest Lecture: Crisis Environmental Management
11.10.2024
A guest lecture was held for students at the Department of Landscape Gardening and Ecology.
Teachers and students majoring in EP Ecology and EP Landscape Gardening attended the guest lecture “Crisis ecological management as an integral element of environmental policy in the war and post-war periods.”
The speaker was Liudmyla RAICHUK, candidate of agricultural sciences, senior researcher, head of the department of the Institute of Agroecology and Nature Management of the National Academy of Sciences, a Fulbright scholarship holder (FRDP) in 2023-2024.
The participants of the meeting noted the importance of the topic, because in the conditions of the military conflict and its consequences, environmental management becomes not only a part of national policy, but also a tool for restoring the natural environment and ensuring the sustainability of ecosystems. The recipients emphasized that the lecture gave them new perspectives for understanding environmental problems and will help in further professional development.
The lecture was a useful addition to such educational components of the EP training of environmental specialists as environmental management and audit, international environmental policy, environmental safety, sustainable development strategy. The lecture was also useful for horticulture specialists, as it covered a number of aspects directly related to their professional activities, such as management in horticulture, management of green areas in crisis conditions. In addition, this meeting also contributed to the development of students’ soft skills, which is an important aspect of their professional training. In particular, it helped to improve the following skills: critical thinking and communication skills. The lecture became not only a source of new knowledge, but also a platform for the development of important personal qualities necessary for successful professional activity.
We are sincerely grateful to Ms. Liudmyla for a meaningful and interesting meeting and we hope for further fruitful cooperation!
