Excursion to Opishnia

On October 8, teachers and students of the Institute of Arts visited the National Museum-Reserve of Ukrainian Pottery in Opishnia.

The museum-reserve opened its doors at the end of the 20th century and has now become a “home” for more than 60,000 unique exhibits. It is one of the best museums in Central and Eastern Europe and the best museum complex of Ukrainian pottery in Ukraine, consisting of seven museums.

We visited the Central Museum, the Krychevsky Art Family Museum, and the Center for the Development of Spiritual Culture.

In the Central Museum, in the park of giant sculptures, there are four sculptures of the senior teacher of the Department of Fine and Decorative Arts, ceramist Inna Gurzhii, who accompanied us during the excursions. We had the opportunity not only to listen to the interesting stories of the tour guides, but also to ask questions to the artist.

Everyone was delighted with the trip, which was intended not only to entertain, but also to enlighten. After all, visual experience is very important for art majors. During excursions, students not only listened to information from the tour guide, but also immediately discussed it with teachers of specialized subjects.

We express our sincere gratitude to the management of the museum complex and tour guides for a wonderfully spent day and acquired knowledge!
