Training “Implementation of the Child’s Right to a Family”

On October 4, on the occasion of the International Day of the Social Pedagogue, the Social Pedagogy Department of  LTSNU held a social and educational training on the topic: “Implementation of the Child’s Right to a Family.”

The purpose of the training was to increase the awareness of the participants regarding the right and needs of the child to be brought up in the family.

Svitlana TUNTUIEVA, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Associate Professor of the Social Pedagogy Department, manager for the development of family forms of education, BF “SOS Children’s Villages” Ukraine acted as the trainer of the event.

The participants of the training were students of the first (bachelor’s) and second (master’s) levels of higher education, specialty 231 “Social Work” under the educational program “Social Work. Social Pedagogy. Practical Psychology”, as well as specialists-practitioners of the social sphere of the city of Lubny.

The training was opened by the Rector of the University, Olena KARAMAN, who congratulated the participants on the International Day of the Social Pedagogue, and also wished them the acquisition of new knowledge, skills and abilities, success, creative inspiration and satisfaction from teamwork.

The participants of the training considered the legal basis for ensuring the child’s right to a family, discussed the main principles of working with families in difficult life circumstances and the importance of working with the child’s biological parents, emphasized the features of supporting orphans deprived of parental care, analyzed several practical cases.

During feedback, participants emphasized the importance of cooperation between social workers, psychologists and representatives of public organizations in supporting children who find themselves in difficult life circumstances, orphans, children deprived of parental care, and providing them with the opportunity to grow up in favorable conditions in the family.

The Social Pedagogy Department expresses its sincere gratitude to trainer Svitlana TUNTUIEVA for extremely useful material, which was presented in an interactive, accessible and modern way.
