An information hour on prevention of threats to the military and economic security of Ukraine was held at the Lysychansk Pedagogical College of LTSNU.
On October 3, 2024, an important event dedicated to the issue of national security and responsibility for actions that could weaken Ukraine’s military and economic potential was held at the Lysychansk Pedagogical College of LTSNU. This measure is part of the State Target Program for the Affirmation of Ukrainian National and Civic Identity, which will be implemented until 2028.
The event was attended by 50 students who actively participated in the discussion of current topics. The purpose of the event was to raise awareness among young people about the responsibility for illegal activities that can contribute to the enemy and weaken the country’s defense capabilities.
The event began with an introductory lecture, where students got acquainted with the threats facing Ukraine in the conditions of war and information aggression. Special attention was paid to the topics of treason, espionage, sabotage and economic sabotage. The teachers explained the legal consequences of such actions in accordance with the Criminal Code of Ukraine, emphasizing that participation in such actions carries a serious responsibility.
There was the interactive part of the event with invited guests – the representative of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Luhansk Region, Police Major Oleksii Sydorenko, the policeman of the response sector of the patrol police of the Sinelnyk District Police Department in the Dnipropetrovsk Region, Sergeant Volodymyr Syrotin and the policewoman of the 2nd platoon, the 1st company of the Patrol Police Battalion with service of the Kamianets-Podilskyi district of the UPP in the Khmelnytsk region of the DPP, police officer Yelyzaveta Serhienko, who shared real examples of countering threats from enemy agents. Students learned how important it is to recognize danger in time, detect suspicious activity and what to do in case of suspicion of actions that undermine the security of the state.
In the second half of the event, a lively discussion took place on the topic “How every citizen can protect national interests.” Students discussed practical aspects of manifestations of patriotism and protection of the state in peaceful life. The issue of supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine and combating enemy propaganda was considered.
The event ended with final conclusions and a call to every student to be a responsible citizen who supports the national security and defense capability of Ukraine with his actions. Special attention was paid to the importance of supporting the Armed Forces and active citizenship.
