European Languages Day at the ER IPJ

The Romance & Germanic Philology Department teachers held an annual event – the Day of European Languages at the ER IPJ.

On 26 September 2024, the Romance & Germanic Philology Department teachers successfully held an annual event – the Day of European Languages at the Educational and Research Institute of Philology and Journalism. The event aimed to promote the study of foreign languages, engage students and teachers in cultural exchange, and create an atmosphere of linguistic diversity.

The celebration of the European language palette was an excellent opportunity for career guidance, as the guests of the event were students of 11th grade: Lyceum No. 2 ‘Podilskyi’ of Poltava City Council, Lyceum No. 14 ‘Zdorovye’ of Poltava City Council, Kreminna Lyceum No. 5 of Kreminna City Council of Luhansk Region, Chornomorsk Lyceum No. 7 of Chornomorsk City Council, Ternivka Lyceum No. 5 of Ternivka City Council of Dnipropetrovsk Region.

On this day, guests had the opportunity to dive into the history of the European Languages Day, learn exciting facts about the most popular languages, and compete in various quizzes. ‘The highlight of the event was creative performances by students of the Romance and Germanic Philology Department and interviews with representatives of the USA and Lithuania.

The Day of European Languages was a bright holiday for the entire university community. The event showed that learning foreign languages is about gaining knowledge and having an opportunity to explore the world, communicate with people of different cultures, and broaden your horizons.
