Congratulations on the Day of Physical Culture and Sports of Ukraine!

Every year on the second Saturday of September, since 1994, the Day of Physical Education and Sports has been celebrated in Ukraine.

The holiday of physical culture and sports is celebrated everywhere in Ukraine. This is a solemn date for everyone who appreciates and respects sports.

We sincerely congratulate athletes, coaches, teachers of physical culture and sports and all supporters of the physical culture and sports movement on the occasion of the Day of Physical Culture and Sports of Ukraine.

Sport personifies youth, greatness of spirit and courage, and people who are healthy in spirit and body are the backbone of society, because sport not only gives health, but also hardens character and will. In honor of sports victories in different parts of the world, the National Anthem of Ukraine sounds and the National Flag flies!

From the first days of the foundation of our university until now, the victorious spirit has always been characteristic of our students. One of its vivid manifestations is the victory of our athletes.

During its 103 years of existence, Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University became famous in Ukraine and beyond thanks to its stellar graduates – winners and medalists of the Olympic Games, World and European Championships, such as: Olha Bryzhina, Viktor Bryzhin, Elizaveta Bryzhina, Hryhorii Misiutin, Oleksandr Horshkovozov, Ihor Koropchinskyi, Lesia Kalitovska, Iryna Yanovych and others. Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University has 35 Olympic medals, including 12 gold, 9 silver, and 14 bronze medals.

Numerous international achievements of our athletes give the whole world another reason to be proud of the strength and indomitability of Ukrainians even in such a difficult time for the country.
