Introductory Conference for Master’s Students Majoring in Ecology

The Department of Landscape Gardening and Ecology held an introductory conference on production practice for master’s students majoring in ecology.

The meeting of the 2nd-year masters of the “Ecology” educational program with the managers of industrial practice, which took place on September 2, marked the beginning of an important stage in their education – practical training at the factory in the final semester before the defense of qualification papers.

The meeting was attended by master’s students, acting head of the Department of Landscape Gardening and Ecology Iryna KRAVETS, head of practice from the department Iryna KYRPYCHOVA and representatives of partner enterprises.

During the selection of production bases for training, the students’ wishes were taken into account, which gives them the opportunity to form an individual educational trajectory according to their needs, including further employment. This year, production practice will take place in 8 organizations of different forms of ownership: Non-governmental organization “National Ecological Center of Ukraine”, Scientific and research institution “Ukrainian Scientific Research Institute of Environmental Problems”, Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine, LLC “Promlyt Plant” “, LLC “Scientific and Production Company “ECOPARK”, MBO “Ecology. Right. Human”, “East Forest Office” Branch, “Forests of Ukraine”, Sokilnytsia Village Council.

The main topic of the meeting was the discussion of the conditions of practice, its tasks and expected results. Practice leaders outlined the main directions of students’ work, emphasizing the importance of acquiring practical skills in solving current environmental problems faced by enterprises and organizations.

Students joined the discussion with great interest, asked questions about the specifics of production processes and the possibilities of implementing their knowledge in practice. It is important that such cooperation will not only improve the professional skills of students, but will also contribute to the introduction of innovative environmental technologies at enterprises. Industrial practice is an integral component of the training of environmental specialists, which ensures the connection of theoretical scientific knowledge with their practical application in real conditions. During practice, students have the opportunity to use modern scientific methods and tools to solve environmental problems, gain experience in conducting research, implement innovative technologies, and develop and evaluate environmental projects. This approach contributes to the formation of critical thinking, analytical skills and the ability to make informed decisions in future professionals, which are necessary for successful professional activity in the field of ecology and environmental protection.

The industrial practice will last 6 weeks, after which the students will present their reports and the results of the completed tasks at the final meeting. We hope that this experience will become an important step in the formation of highly qualified specialists in the field of ecology.
