The academic year for the first-year students at the Educational and Research Institute of Social and Humanitarian Sciences traditionally began with an introductory lecture.
The academic year for the first-year students of the Institute of Social and Humanitarian Sciences began with a traditional event – an introductory lecture on the history and present of our University. The event has already become graceful, for several years in a row it has been held by Oleksandr Naboka, PhD, Professor, Head of the Department of History and Archeology.
In a relaxed atmosphere of friendly conversation, they talked about the history of the university, its scientific and educational achievements; noted the contribution to the development of the Alma Mater of outstanding scientists, historians and teachers. Among them were: Serhii Loktyushev, Serhii Hrushevskyi, Wolf Beilis, Viktor Kriukov, Mykhailo Burian, Anatolii Klymov, and others.
The speaker also familiarized the audience with several legendary traditions of “History Faculty”, which made him famous. These are archaeological expeditions in the Luhansk region and the historical and archaeological reserve “Olvia”, “Dedication to Historians”, “Hello, we are looking for talents”, “Health Day”. Oleksandr Naboka spoke about the fate and development of students, whom he is proud of and with whom he continues to maintain ties, although they have long since graduated.
In general, the lecture was non-trivial and interesting. The event allowed future historians to imagine the multifaceted activities of the University and “History Faculty”, its unique “face” and significance in the process of personal formation.
