International Book Lovers Day

On August 9, bibliophiles from all over the world unite to celebrate the International Book Lovers Day.

This holiday is celebrated by writers, poets, publishers, printers and bookstores, readers and everyone who loves to read and respect books.

Reading books certainly broadens a person’s horizons, makes them smarter, has a great effect on memory, and also contributes to the enrichment of their inner world. Also, reading books increases a person’s vocabulary, contributes to the development of clearer thinking, has a huge impact on spiritual development and moral orientations.

If you read books in electronic form with the same thirst as the paper version, then you can safely join the celebration. Although a book in our traditional sense – thin pages that smell of printing ink and a hard cover – has always been and will remain an object of worship for book lovers. Today, it is not just a piece of paper that contains a certain text, but also a valuable artifact. World Book Lovers Day is another celebration of books, words, and the magic of reading.

The employees of the Educational and Research Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology joined the celebration of book lovers, bringing their favorite Ukrainian-language books, and involving their friends in the reading campaign. They exchanged books, shared their thoughts on what they had read, and recommended new interesting titles of modern books for leisure reading.

There are many connoisseurs of good books and reading at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University. Books are a real wealth, a divine gift that a person will never have enough.

Congratulations to everyone who can’t imagine their life without books, starts or ends the day with reading and knows everything about the world of literature! May your bookshelves be replenished with good Ukrainian books, dear book lovers!
