Eternal Glory and Memory to the Hero!

The sad news came to our Institute of Natural and Agrarian Sciences of LTSNU.

Unfortunately, the war makes adjustments to people’s lives. Defending our country from the aggressor, on June 6, 2024, our graduate Mykola Viktorovych Syrovyi died in the Sumy direction.

In April 2014, the war began in the east of Ukraine, Mykola became a volunteer for the defense of the state’s sovereignty in the Aidar battalion. On the first day of the full-scale invasion, he volunteered for the territorial defense of Kharkiv, where he bravely defended the borders. He enjoyed great respect and authority among his peers. On June 4, 2024, relatives unfortunately lost contact with Mykola. Later it became known that the hero died on 06.06.2024 in the Sumy direction, protecting our country from the aggressor.

Mykola Viktorovych was born on December 18, 1967 in the village of Vyshneve, Starobilsk district, Luhansk region. He studied at the Vyshneve secondary school. After graduating from school, he entered the Veselivsky Technical School, where he received an education as a veterinarian.

He graduated from Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University with a degree in Ecology. He completed a full cycle of bachelor’s and master’s studies. He was always active in the life of the Institute. Regardless of the service, he attended the events of the institute, the university, and worked with those who received full-time uniforms on the patriotic education of the youth.

In the memory of family and friends, Mykola Viktorovych will always remain a sincere, cheerful and kind person.

Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, Institute of Natural and Agrarian Sciences expresses its deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the defender. We are proud that Mykola Viktorovych, a true patriot of Ukraine, studied with us.
