Participation in the Youth Camp for Young Professionals

From July 30 to August 2, within the framework of the OSCE support program for Ukraine, a youth camp for young professionals in the social sphere was held.
The purpose of the camp “Provision of psychosocial assistance during the war and in the period of post-war reconstruction” was to acquaint specialists with up-to-date information on the specifics of providing social and psychological assistance to the population, to develop skills in working with different categories of people during the war and in the period of post-war reconstruction and promote the psychological recovery of youth camp participants.
A bachelor’s student majoring in 231 Social work Alona Kuznetsova, a trainer of the Youth Coaching Network of the NGO “La Strada Ukraine”, had the opportunity to represent Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University as a member of the Scientific and Methodological Center “School of Mediation” and a trainer ” Understanding Services” of our university, among young professionals from different regions of Ukraine.
The camp program became a source of inspiration and professional development. During the camp, the participants had the opportunity to implement the following tasks:
- actualization of existing knowledge regarding the specifics of providing social and psychological assistance during the war and in the period of post-war recovery;
- familiarization with normative legal acts regulating the provision of psychosocial assistance;
- forming an understanding of the impact of crisis and traumatic events related to war on the ability to receive and provide services familiarization with the levels of provision of psychosocial assistance to vulnerable categories of the population of Ukraine;
- formation of practical skills for work and interaction with various categories of the population in need of psychosocial assistance, using the principles of a trauma-informed approach;
- formation of skills of conflict understanding and practical conflict resolution with effective communication and emotional intelligence;
- familiarization with the best US experience in providing psychosocial care using the principles of a trauma-informed approach;
- formation of skills in creating and implementing projects and attracting grant funding.
All participants of the youth camp received certificates and materials for practical work.
Alona Kuznetsova noted the usefulness and expediency of the presented practical material and the possibility of its application in coaching and future professional activities.
