Continuous Educational Process for LTSNU Foreign Students

Staff of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Mathematics and Information Technologies, the Institute of International Education and the International Relations Office work with foreign students who arrived on an offline study in Ukraine.

Despite abnormally hot weather and lack of continuous power supply, staff of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Mathematics and Information Technologies (Hennadii MOHYLNYI, Mykola SEMENOV), the Institute of International Education (Iryna MYHOVYCH), and the International Relations Office (Liudmyla OVCHAROVA), are currently working with foreign students of the second (Master’s) level, who arrived at LTSNU for offline training stage, demonstrating a high level of professionalism in working with foreign citizens and devotion to teaching.

The implementation of educational activities for foreign citizens is carried out on the basis of individual learning trajectories jointly built by the Institute of International Education and the Educational and Scientific Institutes of the university and individual plans of such students, the structure of which involves stages of offline and online learning. One of the illustrative examples of the implementation of such a model in 2024 was the work with foreign students of the Institute of Arts, who arrived at the university to master particular educational components of the training program and pass state qualification exams.

Currently, students of the second (Master’s) level of higher education of 122 Computer Science major CHENG LIYAN and QIN LU attend offline classes in Poltava. Having received a bachelor of law and a bachelor of technical sciences in China (“Commercial Law”, “Nuclear Engineering and Nuclear Technologies” majors), Cheng Liyan and Qin Lu entered LTSNU in 2023, noting, among other things, at the admission interview the fact that they made the choice of our university taking into account the quality of educational services in a distance format, as well as available reviews and statistics of appeals on the website of the Institute of International Education (https://www.iiestudy.online/). Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Mathematics and Information Technologies, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Hennadii A. Mohylnyi and Head of the Department of Information Technologies and Systems, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Mykola A. Semenov work with students, opening them the world of innovative teaching technologies offered by the ES IMIT, features of the functioning of the VMware Horizon Client program, which allows one to use the software resources of the Institute to solve a number of problems in Computer Science field.

Working with foreign citizens meets the key objectives of the policy of internationalization of LTSNU, namely: provision of educational services within accredited study programmes for students; development and implementation of innovative forms and methods of education process provision taking into account the needs of the international market of educational services; support of multiculturalism as one of the basic principles of University functioning; development of internationally acknowledged institutional brand, thus promoting the Institute and the University abroad, etc. We thank the administration of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Mathematics and Information Technologies for active involvement in working with foreign students of the university.
