Summer School. Day 2

The second day of the SGH Summer School, which took place on July 9 in Warsaw, was also full of activity for the delegation of LTSNU.

The speaker of the day was Annika Bergman-Rosamond (Ph.D., University of Edinburgh) – senior lecturer of international relations and gender issues at the University of Edinburgh. She is an international relations and gender scholar whose work spans a range of fields, including feminist foreign policy, feminist security studies, gendered cosmopolitanism and security ethics, feminist peace and digital diplomacy, critical military studies, crisis studies, populism and gender nationalism, rights human and environmental justice, as well as intersectionality. She also works on celebrity humanitarianism, pop culture, and world politics, focusing on the ethical, gender, neoliberal, and colonial foundations of celebrity politics and activism.

The Professor Annika Bergman-Rosamond gave a workshop on methods: Narrative Analysis: Feminist and Strategic Narratives.

The Professor Daniel Beland from the University of Canada gave lectures on the topics: “How Ideas Shape Norms and Policies?” and “Feedback on Policy: How Does the Norm Shape Policy?”.

The Professor Daniel Beland has held non-tenured academic positions at Harvard University, the University of Bremen, Nagoya University, the University of Southern Denmark and the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. He is the executive editor of the journal Comparative Policy Analysis and editor of the journal Policy and Society. He studies comparative social and public policy, published more than 20 books and 200 articles in peer-reviewed journals.

During the second day, our representatives took part in a poster session, where they presented the results of their research, which is taking place in the course of their dissertation research.

Olha KORINSKA presented a poster on the topic “Impact of Digital Transformation on Future Translators”, where she presented her work on the topic. She determined the impact of digital transformation on translators as future professionals who have to work in society and with it in the process of studying at the university. The essence of digital transformation and digital education in the modern conditions of the development of information and communication technologies was clarified. The role of digital transformation and the possibility of using artificial intelligence, clouds, internet portals in the educational process in the context of the concept of “information culture”, that is, taking into account the norms of working with information, are defined.

Kateryna Bilobrovska presented a poster on the topic: “The Concept in a Global Dimension: Relationship Between Thinking and Culture.” Using the question-answer method, she outlined the key aspects of the concept, namely: definition, structure, when to research, in what way, for what purpose, etc.

The day passed in a friendly atmosphere, and the representatives of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko  National University were able to expand their range of experience on current topics and share their knowledge and achievements.
