Report of Postgraduate Students Majoring in Mathematics
1.7.2024
On June 28, 2024 and June 29, 2024, during the meetings of the Algebra Research Group, postgraduate students reported on their scientific research and the implementation of the postgraduate student’s individual work plan.
The event was held online via Google Meet video communication program with the participation of the postgraduate students majoring in “Mathematics” and their supervisors.
We would like to remind you that Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University has approved a program for the introduction of the English language into the educational and scientific process. As part of the implementation of this program and with the aim of popularizing the study of English at the university, the first report at the event was made by the Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Anatolii Zhuchok. Topic of the report: “Mathematics in Our Life”. During the speech, the speaker used only English language, as well as slides prepared in English. The report gave a brief description of the relevance of mathematics, its relationship with humanity at all levels of everyday life. Anatolii Zhuchok also spoke briefly about the importance of studying the theory of semigroups, which mathematicians at the university are engaged in.
After that, Violetta Hurchonok, first-year postgraduate student (supervisor: Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Anatolii Zhuchok), reported on the passed tests and exams, on the number of processed sources on the topic. In addition, she said that she is working on the construction of a new algebraic structure.
Oleksandra Sporikhina, first-year postgraduate student (supervisor: Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Yurii Zhuchok), said that she studies endotypes of semigroups of endomorphisms, which have important applications in graph theory. Oleksandra also reported on the implementation of the postgraduate student’s individual work plan.
Yana Tsys, second-year postgraduate student (supervisor: Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Anatolii Zhuchok), reported that she had prepared an overview of the results on the topic of the research, and made a presentation of examples of some g-demonoids. The postgraduate student continues to work on the study of different classes of congruences on demonoids using the apparatus of semi-retractions, first introduced by the famous Ukrainian mathematician, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Vitalii Usenko, who worked at our university from 2001 to 2006.
We wish our postgraduate students majoring in mathematics success in writing their dissertations!
