The guarantor of the “Sociology” educational program of the first (bachelor’s) level of higher education joined the presentation of a book about the life of Ukrainians in Latvia and presented the “Elpa” project to study the needs of women 30+ who moved to Latvia. The results of the project will be used in the future to create a road map for the recovery of the resource status of female migrants from Ukraine in Latvia.

During the first part of the event, the urgent needs of forced migrants, their problems and ways to solve them were discussed. The relaxed atmosphere and wide representation of various public organizations contributed to networking among the public activists of Ukraine and Latvia.

During the second part of the event, everyone could get a book about life in Latvia with autographs of the authors. During the presentation, the Minister of Culture Agnese Lāce spoke, who congratulated the authors and addressed the Ukrainian people with wishes for victory and the establishment of peace.

The “Elpa” project will be implemented thanks to the cooperation of the Department of Philosophy and Sociology of LTSNU, the University of Latvia and the NGO “I want to help refugees”. Preparation and defense of the project became a contribution to the treasury of cases of the discipline “Grant training and project management” for master’s students and the discipline “Sociology of Organization and Management” for bachelors.
