The Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Natural and Agrarian Sciences Nataliia MATSAI introduced the author of the charity photo exhibition, a graduate of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Geography of LTSNU – Serhii HLOTOV. Ms. Nataliia spoke about Serhii’s studies and scientific activities, his volunteer activities and creativity in author’s photography. Serhii is a well-known patriot both in Luhansk and Lviv regions, where he was forced to move in 2014, when he was put on the firing lists for his national position in occupied Luhansk. While already in Lviv region, Serhii founded the charity foundation “People’s Support of ATO Soldiers”. In 2018, on his initiative, the chronicle book “In the Ring of Fire. Defense of Luhansk Airport” was published.
While already at the “Akademik Vernadsky” station, in the most remote point of Antarctica, Serhii started the author’s charity project “COLORS OF THE WHITE CONTINENT”, which consists of exhibitions, presentations and the sale of Flyers_Unbreakable.
The photo exhibition is part of Serhii HLOTOV’s author’s photo project “COLORS OF THE WHITE CONTINENT”, aimed at supporting volunteer initiatives to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which in times of war defend and protect the freedom, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
The exhibition is dedicated to the “Combat Penguins” – Ukrainian polar explorers who serve in the ranks of the Armed Forces. At least 21 polar explorers are currently known to have joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Our ‘combat penguins’ include medics, gunners, scouts, drone operators, signalmen, stormtroopers, sappers, divers and other military specialists. Most of them serve in the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Polar soldiers protect Ukraine in the hottest areas of the front: from the Left Bank of the Dnieper to the Bakhmut and Kupiansk directions.
We invite you to visit the exhibition and make a generous charitable contribution to the needs of the Armed Forces. Funds can also be transferred online for equipment for polar explorers, who bravely defend our country today. The card number of Olena Marushevska is 5168 7451 2508 8739, who works in the center and contacts all the winter workers who serve, knows their needs and organizes fundraising.
The exhibition will last from June 18 to 28, 2024. Visitors will be able to view photos of Antarctic birds and mammals that live around the Ukrainian station “Akademik Vernadskyi”, located on Galindez Island. Several types of penguins, fur seals, leopards and elephants, glaciers and icebergs – for some time you will be able to immerse yourself in this incredible Antarctic atmosphere!
We invite everyone who wishes to visit the free exhibition and, if possible, leave a donation for our Armed Forces of Ukraine!
