The work of the webinar, which took place on May 16 within the framework of the “Festival of Science – 2024”, was attended by scientific and pedagogical workers, postgraduate students, and master’s students. The Associate Professor Oksana Kleschova from the Ukrainian Language Department took part in the scientific event.
The speaker told about the problems of academic plagiarism in scientific research, in particular, she determined which documents regulate the issue; raised the problem of the definition of the concept of “academic integrity”; emphasized the importance of observing academic integrity by pedagogic, scientific-pedagogical, scientific workers, students, and objective assessment of study results; focused attention on cases of violation of academic integrity, in particular the concepts of plagiarism, self-plagiarism, academic plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, writing off, deception, bribery, on cases of biased assessment, forms and types of academic responsibility of educational institutions.
Olena Yeremenko expressed an interesting opinion regarding the use of artificial intelligence by students and its use. The spokeswoman noted: “Today we have a new challenge: learning to work and counter artificial intelligence. It is necessary to normalize, because we risk the fact that people will stop learning to think independently. That’s why, as a philologist, I see a person through words and give preference to oral exams.”
Based on the results of participation in the webinar, assistant professor Oksana Kleschova shared the knowledge she gained and her own thoughts with the teachers of the Educational and Research Institute of Philology and Journalism and students who are members of the student scientific group.
