A short-term seminar was held for employees of social service providers in territorial communities.
From June 11 to 13, 2024, as part of the traditional cooperation of the Social Pedagogy Department of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University with the Luhansk Regional Center of Social Services, a short-term online seminar was held for employees of social service providers (communal institutions/institutions of territorial communities of the region and non-state sector).
The event was attended by 48 specialists in the social sphere, who had the opportunity to deepen their professional knowledge on a number of relevant professional issues. The moderators and speakers of the seminar were the teachers of the Social Pedagogy Department.
During the event, some aspects of the technology of social work in today’s conditions were discussed (Associate Professor Nataliia Krasnova); supervision in the professional activities of a social worker (Associate Professor Svitlana Tuntuieva), social planning in the activities of a social worker (Associate Professor Nataliia Lytvynova).
Also, the teachers together with the participants identified modern approaches in social work with people with disabilities in Ukraine (Associate Professor Nataliia Ostrovska); determined the physiological, psychological, social features and needs of the elderly (assistant Kateryna Duvanska), as well as discussed the practical features of providing social services to elderly clients in the conditions of the territorial community of a large city and a rural community (Associate Professor Nataliia Ostrovska, second (master) level graduate of education specialty 231 “Social Work” Natalia Timchenko and Larysa Kutalo).
During the training, 25 employees of social service providers of the communal sector of communities of Luhansk region and 23 representatives of a non-governmental public organization improved their professional competences in the organization of social work with the elderly and persons with disabilities regarding the provision of care services and received appropriate certificates.
Similar measures will contribute to improving the quality of social services for the specified categories of residents of territorial communities of Luhansk region in wartime conditions and after the de-occupation of the territories.
The Social Pedagogy Department expresses its confidence in preserving the partnership and further cooperation with the Luhansk Regional Center of Social Services.
