Work in the SOS Room “Children’s Village”

The work of the Psychology Department continues in the room of the Children’s Village.

On the basis of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, in the resource sensory room, assistant of the Psychology Department of the Educational and Research Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology, Doctor of Philosophy, head of the “Psychological Rehabilitation and Adaptation Center, psychologist Anton NAZMIEV of the SOS “Children’s Village” continues his work with children and students.

Anton NAZMIEV is a specialist with high qualifications, professional knowledge and skills, for whom the goal in conducting group psychological and pedagogical classes is to maximize the educational and personal potential of each child and to overcome socialization barriers.

A sensory room is a specially organized environment for psycho-emotional relief, which is equipped to stimulate various systems of perception: tactile, auditory, visual, and vestibular.

Now more than ever, teenagers need help, support and special attention. Therefore, the psychologist also teaches children to cope with the horrors of war and teaches them to support others, paying special attention to the mental health of the younger generation. Under the supervision of a specialist, those present learn to:

  • interact with each other based on consent;
  • negotiate, ask for help (if necessary);
  • refuse and accept someone else’s refusal;
  • be friends and be polite to each other.

Of course, psychological work with children and students is a complex and important process aimed at the development, maintenance and correction of their psychological state. The activity of a psychologist in the resource room includes various forms, methods and techniques, taking into account the age characteristics and individual needs of each child and is one of the most important areas of psychological assistance, which includes creative workshops, trainings, role-playing games, observations and analysis. Interesting and unconventional methods allow to attract children’s attention and contribute to better assimilation of the material, increase of motivation and development of communication skills.

In the resource room, there is always a relaxed, creative, educational and entertaining atmosphere, because in such an environment it is most optimal to establish a relationship between a psychologist and teenagers. Such activity encourages children to communicate, teaches them to play in a team, which definitely has a significant impact on their general, mental and emotional state, helps to master and learn communication skills and behavior in society.

This space is equipped with the support of the international charitable organization SOS “Children’s Village”.
