Participation in the International Summer Mediation School

Teachers of the Department of Social Pedagogy and students majoring in 231 Social Work. Social Pedagogy. Practical Psychology took part in the four-day International Summer Mediation School.

On June 10-14, 2024, the fifth International Mediation Summer School was organized by the KROK business school in partnership with the National Association of Mediators of Ukraine.

The mediation school lasted four days and brought together more than 100 participants – specialists in the field of public administration, scientists, entrepreneurs, business managers, mediators and other professionals whose activities are related to communication, establishment and maintenance of relations.

The program of the event included speeches by leading international and Ukrainian practitioners who have vast experience in the field of alternative conflict resolution, mediation, and negotiations

The topics of the work were: motivational interview in mediation; what is the difference between a good negotiator and a brilliant negotiator?; how to make negotiations part of the company’s DNA; to be an expert in negotiations; mediation in the IT sphere; mediation in executive proceedings; art of questions in mediation; practical lessons in mediation: is everything as simple as we are taught?

The International Mediation Summer School provided an opportunity for participants to gain new experience, to discuss the latest research and practices that will be useful in the work of the “Understanding Service” for students and teachers of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, which is aimed at preventing and resolving conflicts peacefully and is based on the principles of peacebuilding, practices of a restorative approach, principles of solidarity and “equal to equal”. At the end, the participants received certificates.
