Participation in the International Scientific and Practical Conference

Olena Mezhenska, Associate Professor of the Department of Political Science and International Relations, took part in the work of the International Scientific and Practical Conference.
On June 6, 2024, Olena Mezhenska took part in the work of the International Scientific and Practical Conference “UKRAINE AND THE WORLD IN THE CONDITIONS OF RUSSIAN ARMED INTERVENTION (since 2014)”. The work of the conference took place in sections: “The Russian-Ukrainian war in the system of the modern international world order: the latest challenges and threats”; “The security dimension of international relations in the context of Russian aggression”; “European integration aspirations of Ukraine: current state, trends and development prospects.”
Speakers raised topical and problematic issues: “From the Romanovs to Putin: Ukraine’s bloody divorce from the Russian Empire” (Reient Oleksandr Petrovych, Doctor of History, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Professor of the Institute of History of Ukraine, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine); “From “Russian measure” to racism: the conservative revolution 2014‒2024.” (Larysa Dmytrivna Yakubova, Doctor of History, Corresponding Member of the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine).
No less interesting were the discussions that took place during the working sessions, in particular regarding: the informational component of the Russian-Ukrainian war, Ukraine’s path to joining NATO, demographic consequences and challenges for Ukraine and the countries of the European Union.
Particular attention was drawn to the issue of diplomatic relations during the period of Russian aggression and the impact of the Russian Federation’s large-scale aggression in Ukraine on the environment of the international relations system.
The acquired knowledge will be applied in the courses “General Theory of Politics”, “Political Conflictology”, “Theory and History of Diplomacy”, “Diplomatic and Consular Service”.
