Participation in the Grant Program with the Support of EURECA-PRO and NAWA

Director of the Institute of International Education, Head of the International Relations Office Iryna MYHOVYCH takes part in the grant program with the support of the Alliance of European Universities EURECA-PRO and the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchanges.

From 3 to 7 June in Gliwice, Upper Silesia, Poland, an event International Staff Training Week is taking place with the participation of experts in the field of international education and internationalization. This year it is being implemented with the support of the alliance of European universities EURECA-PRO and NAWA – Polish National Agency for Academic Exchanges (Narodowa Agencja Wymiany Akademickiej). The event is held on the basis of the Silesian Polytechnic University (Politechnika Śląska), which for nine consecutive years has been a partner of LTSNU within the framework of the Erasmus KA1 project “Students and Staff Mobility.”

The key areas of the event are defined:

  • development of a reflective approach to teaching and learning in international education;
  • development of strategies for the development of international educational projects;
  • formation of skills of autonomous (independent) work of students and lecturers using digital learning tools and virtual mobility;
  • mechanisms for developing skills of COIL projects in a modern European university;
  • the use of English for research and for scientific communication in the light of critical pedagogy.

The session work of the first two days focused on such topics as “Promoting Critical Digital Literacy. Developing a Reflective Approach to Teaching and Learning in HE”, “Research, Educational Offer and Cooperation Opportunities”, “Qualities of an Effective 0nline Facilitator: Putting into Practice”, “Navigating the Bumpy Terrain of Critical Digital Pedagogy”, which discussed research, educational proposals and opportunities for cooperation with alliances of European universities, putting into practice the qualities of an effective online mentor and the possibilities of critical digital pedagogy. The speakers of the days were: Grzegorz Klapyta, Head of International Relations Department, SUT (Politechnika Śląska), Poland; Kiruthika Ragupathi, representative of the Center for the Development of Teaching and Learning of the National University of Singapore; Gosia Kurek, representative of the Institute of Foreign Languages at Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa, Poland; Anna Turula, representative of the Krakow Pedagogical University, Poland and others.

During the next session days, it is planned to consider opportunities to promote intercultural joint training, issues of television collaboration and virtual exchanges, etc.
