Integrated Education in Natural Sciences

The teachers were trained under the program of professional development of teachers from the PS “OSVITORIA” “Integrated Education in Natural Sciences: International Experience of Using STEAM Technology”.
The Director of the Institute of Natural and Agrarian Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Biology and Agronomy, Nataliia MATSAI successfully mastered the advanced training course on STEAM-integrated case-lesson methodology developed by Larysa HRABOVSKA, a graduate of the European Schoolnet Academy from the STEAM course; international leader of category B in the field of Education and Science according to the UNESCO classification, Candidate of Technical Sciences in environmental safety.
The course provides an opportunity to improve the methodical and professional level of competence of teachers teaching science subjects; to learn information about modern world, in particular European, methods/methodologies/technologies/tools for teaching natural science subjects; provides an opportunity to master these teaching methods/methods/technologies/tools on the example of ready-made content.
The training took place over three weeks and included: 1. Familiarization with the world experience of STEAM projects and mastering the use of NGSS and Scientix Learning Scenario standards, 2. Obtaining methodological support for working with resources from the European Schoolnet Academy, the European Community of Science Education and the PhET project. 3. Development of pedagogical conditions for the use of educational scenarios in the Scientix Learning Scenario format.
The content was divided into three educational modules: Module 1. Development of a modern STEAM project, Module 2. Opportunities of the European scientific education community Scientix for teachers of natural sciences in Ukraine, Module 3. Methods of innovative pedagogy in STEAM. Ideas and inspiration.
