A guest lecture “Development of Сyber Diplomacy: Strategies and Tools” was held for students of the ER ISHS. 

On May 23, 2024, a guest lecture by the cyber security adviser of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andrii Valeriiovych Zablotskyi, “Development of Сyber Diplomacy: Strategies and Tools”.

A key direction in the development of international relations, an effective means of communication of the international community have become digital practices, which have also found application in the activities of embassies and diplomats.

The weak point of digital diplomacy remains the threat of “leakage” of information, which requires certain means of ensuring its protection. Performing diplomatic functions to protect national interests in cyberspace is cyber diplomacy. The priority tasks of the diplomatic institutions of Ukraine in the field of cyber protection were determined in the “Plan of Measures for 2023-2024 for the Implementation of the Cyber Security Strategy of Ukraine”.

Andrii Valeriiovych drew attention to the fact that the interconnectedness of our world makes us vulnerable, in particular in the field of external communications. That is why the powerful diplomatic work of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine today is aimed at building a stable and safe cyberspace in the diplomatic sphere. And cyber diplomacy is an important tool for maintaining stability, security and cooperation between states. The meeting was interesting and useful.
