On the occasion of the International Vyshyvanka Day, the university hosted an exhibition of embroidery “Colors Intertwined With a Rainbow”.
On May 16, 2024, Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University hosted an exhibition of embroidery “Colors Intertwined With a Rainbow”, which welcomed everyone with bread and salt, songs, a mini-exhibition and skillfully embroidered works. They demonstrated the symbolism of our Ukrainian mother through shades, colors and special patterns that are found only in the regions of our country. After all, folk art, which has been passed down from generation to generation for centuries, has always been and is an inexhaustible treasury of the spiritual culture of our people.
The centuries-old history of the Ukrainian people, their creative pursuits, joy and sorrow, their victories and defeats, their hopes for the future are connected with the embroidery. Undoubtedly, it is a spiritual symbol of the Ukrainian people, the native land, the parental home, the warmth of the mother’s hands.
After all the celebratory event, the results of the “My Home in Vyshyvanka” competition under the motto “Embroidering Victory” were summed up, where the university’s subdivisions, which designed thematic premises of the directorates, took part.
The victory was won by the directorates of the separate structural subdivisions of the “Starobilsk Professional College” and the Professional College of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.
Volodymyr Moroz, the head of the Primary Trade Union Organization, together with the university administration, provided gifts for awarding the winners of the contests. Volodymyr Petrovych emphasized that the main goal of the event is the preservation and popularization of Ukrainian values, and the vyshyvanka is exactly the symbol that unites Ukrainians.
We congratulate the winners and thank everyone who participated in the event and its organization.
Let’s embroider victory together!!!
