All-Ukrainian Mental Health Programme “How Are You?”

Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University joined the All-Ukrainian Mental Health Programme “HOW ARE YOU?”.
On May 8, 2024, the team of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration conducted a training on the topic “Development of the Culture of Mental Health Care and First Aid in Conditions of Military Service for Students and Specialists ” in the state institution “Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University”, the city of Lubny.
Doctor of Pedagogy, Professor, Rector of the University Olena KARAMAN opened the meeting with welcoming words, who noted the significant attention paid to mental health and its support in the system of professional relations, especially in the social sphere, and urged everyone to take care of their own mental health.
The deputy head of the Luhansk RMA, Kateryna BEZHINSKA, told the audience about the mental health programme “HOW ARE YOU?” in the Luhansk region, which was started by the first lady Olena Zelenska.
Inna SAZONOVA – regional coordinator of the implementation of the “HOW ARE YOU?” mental health programme, deputy director of the Department of Health Protection of the Regional State Administration summarized and announced the results of the work for the year of implementation of this programme.
A specialist of the educational and training department of the Luhansk Regional Center for Emergency Medical Aid and Disaster Medicine conducted a practical part with the participants of the training: pre-medical aid in conditions of martial law. The instructor talked about basic resuscitation measures, providing first aid, etc., and practiced the training sessions on a training mannequin.
Students, teachers and employees together mastered the skills of dealing with stress.
Training participants learned methods of regulating emotional states and psychological recovery, relieved tension in the body, lifted their spirits, distracted themselves from bad thoughts and improved their well-being through art therapy together with Anton NAZMIIEV, Ph.D., assistant professor of psychology at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, who emphasized the importance of development culture of caring for mental health, having conducted exercises with those present that helped to relieve emotional tension and relax.
