Meeting with representatives of the PO “Teaching for Ukraine” took place at the university.
On May 7, 2024, a Zoom conference with representatives of the PO “Teaching for Ukraine” was held at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.
At the online meeting, the attendees learned that from 2022, the team of the PO “Teaching for Ukraine” will implement the project to overcome educational losses “Educational Soup” in cooperation with the International Academy of Tutoring, which is the leading institution in Ukraine for training teachers with tutoring competencies, and the program ” StudMentor”, the purpose of which is to provide equal opportunities for every child, regardless of the residence place.
The PO “Teaching for Ukraine” as a program of support and development of students who go to teach in small cities and towns, has experience of cooperation with students and young specialists and their preparation for interaction with children.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
“StudMentor” is a program for Ukrainian students who are ready to support schoolchildren from the frontline regions and show them that studying is cool. All this is through an academic mentoring approach, where students (mentors) transfer knowledge and experience to students (mentees).
If you are a student who wants to support children with knowledge, engage in or plan to engage in teaching/mentoring activities, we invite you to our intensive, which will help you improve your lessons with children using a mentoring approach.
During two weeks, the following topics are discussed:
- active listening and providing feedback;
- working with resistance;
- non-violent communication;
- building an individual development map for yourself and the mentee,
- and also practice critical thinking skills and use of AI tools.
The program is suitable for you if:
- you are interested in modern tools and methods of interaction with others;
- you want to gain your first experience of teaching or working with children or you already have it and want to deepen it;
- you want to become a high-quality support for children and make them fall in love with your subject;
- you are ready to actively study and participate in practical exercises;
- you want to join the growing community of intellectual volunteers of Ukraine.

- 24 hours of practical training online with the best experts;
- Certificate of successful completion of the project from Teach for Ukraine and UNICEF;
The graduates of the intensive will be able to continue their studies, supporting children from the frontline regions as mentors in one of the school subjects for 8 weeks, with the help of super mentors, methodologists and the community. It will also give you the opportunity to get more hours in the certificate, a personal recommendation and nice gifts.
Further volunteering in the program may also count as an internship at your institution.
