Open Lecture

On May 8, an open lecture by Petr Długuozs, Professor of the University of Kraków, took place at the invitation of the Department of Philosophy and Sociology.

The lecture on the topic “Forced Migration of Ukrainian Women and Children to Poland: A Sociological Perspective” was attended not only by students of the “Sociology” specialty, but also of the “Secondary Education. History and Jurisprudence”, “History and Archeology”, “International Relations”, “Political Science”.

Lecturers from Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University were also present at the lecture. The Professor presented the results of the research conducted by the research laboratory he heads (INTERDYSCYPLINARNE LABORATORIUM BADAŃ WOJNY W UKRAINIE). The scientist considered the problem of forced migration from various aspects, but the main focus was on social aspects. The students noted that the lecture was meaningful and interesting, especially the discussion about the impact of migration on Ukrainian and Polish societies. Mr. Petr’s lecture helped students better understand modern migration processes and Ukraine’s place in them.
