A virtual tour to an Innovative Center in Paris

Students of the Educational and Research Institute of Philology and Journalism were given a conducted tour of the De Vinci Innovation Center (DVIC) lab, an innovative hub of the Pôle Léonard de Vinci University in Paris.

The tour was conducted by Dr. Xiao Xiao, a principal investigator and head of Human Learning Group. DVIC is the trans-disciplinary hub   where researchers and university students   invent real-world, human-centered technologies with long-term perspectives for our planet.  Dr. Xiao Xiao kindly answered Ukrainian students’ numerous question and briefly told them about her research.  Dr. Xiao Xia currently conducts research on an interface to help non-native speakers learn the melody of foreign languages using a gesture-controlled vocal synthesizer. Other recent projects include Minds in the Making, an interactive installation in a 4-story stairwell and Inventive Minds, a collection of essays about learning by the Artificial Intelligence pioneer Marvin Minsky, for which Dr. Xiao Xia was co-editor and illustrator.   Dr. Xiao Xiao’s work has been published in reputed international conferences and been featured on blogs, television shows, and magazines from around the world. Students learned lots of new things, got some food for thought, really enjoyed the tour and expressed their big thanks to Dr. Xiao Xiao.
