Participation of teachers of the Romance & Germanic Philology Department in the webinar “How to find relevant literature in Scopus”
Since 2024, the “Year of Active Publication Activity in Scopus” has been declared at the University. The teachers of the Romance & Germanic Philology Department not only work on publications but also regularly join webinars related to Scopus.
On 9 April 2024, Khairulina N. F., Yunina O. Ye., Kharkovskyi Ye. M., and Skliarova I. V. took part in the webinar “How to find relevant literature in Scopus”, which gave valuable advice and instructions on how to use Scopus, one of the most authoritative databases of scientific literature and scientific citations.
The event had the following modules.
- Overview ofScopus: covered an overview of the interface, basic search and filtering functions;
- Literature search: focused in detail on how to effectively search for scientific articles and other publications in Scopus, considered various search strategies, the use of keywords and filters for accurate selection of literature;
- Evaluation of articles: The webinar provided information on how to assess the quality and relevance of scientific articles in Scopus, and the participants were told about various citation indicators, such as the impact factor, H-index, and the process of peer review of articles,
- Saving results:The attention was focused on how to save and organize the literature found for further use;
- The latest features and updates: Scopus is constantly being updated and improved.
The webinar included an overview of the latest features and updates that make it easier to find and use scientific literature.
This webinar was beneficial for anyone interested in research work and the use of scientific literature in their activities.
